Have you ever dreamed of being the best at the things you love to do? Not SURE? Let me ask you this. What if the one thing that your good at is the one thing you do not ever want to do? Well that may not be you but that was certainly me.
As with many young aspiring people, the thought of being your dad or at least having the same occupation was a childhood dream long dismissed.
As the son of a poor overworked carpenter it was clear that carpentry was not for me. Sound familiar? Of course I worked for him growing up and needing money. It became clear that woodworking was in my blood. Now what??
I tried many things after that. I sold life insurance and mutual funds. I did office work. Tried my hand at welding, was pretty good at that to. Had maintenance positions but always ended up doing some kind of woodworking wether it was cabinets or construction. I guess the good thing about all this is that I know how to do most anything.
Through all that I still ended up being the wood guy. Wood and turning wood into things became my passion.
Although I’m not a blogger I want to teach people that they can become passionate about woodworking aswell. Blogging is an easy way to help people begin to learn some basic things about the craft of woodworking.
Please come back for future blogs about my continuing story and tips about woodworking. If there’s anything you would like to know please ask me in the comments. I will try to answer.
For more detailed and an indepth and look into woodworking, stay tuned. I’m working on a subscription based question and answer, with projects, and plans for building your own furniture. If this interests you feel free to comment. Thanks for reading this. Please share with others.
